OK, I admit – this is the first article on this website. I want to learn to invest in real estate. I need money (and have none), have no capital, no real estate smarts, no anything when it comes to real estate investing. This site will be a detailed archive of my “quest to invest” – even though right now I have no capital.
I’m creating this site so that I can not only journal my experience of learning real estate investment – from beginner to “expert” – but also share it with future readers and help them out on their journey as well (hence the site address!).
Just a few days ago I purchased the book Real Estate Investing For Dummies which is written by Eric Tyson and Robert Griswold. I’ve got to say that Chapter 7 really resonated with me (and maybe it will with too):
“At some point in your life you’ve surely had the experience of wanting to do something and then realizing you don’t have sufficient money to accomplish your goal”
“The world of real estate investing is no different. You can’t play if you can’t pay.”
“To invest in real estate, you need capital, and likewise you need a source from which to gather said capital.”
Tyson and Griswold later go on to repeat the old phrase (reiterating their points from earlier in the chapter) that “it takes money to make money” and it definitely makes sense. It makes sense that buying real estate with no money cannot be done despite whatever expectations or hopes or dreams we have. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it is.
How To Become a Real Estate Investor With No Money
It sounds self-serving, but if you have no money and want to learn about real estate investing, follow this site and search the articles. I plan to research this subject extensively, interview experts, find mentors, read books, and go out and do it – whatever it takes for me to learn about everything there is to know about real estate investing. So if you have no money (like I don’t right now) then hopefully you’ll be able to read about my path and learn from it.
